On May the 15th at the Buying Groups National Flooring Show, CRUK will be presenting their ideas on clean installation waste and take back schemes. However instead of banging the green drum and guilt tripping us into a more responsible method of waste disposal, they will be taking a different stance in an effort to show us how invaluable our recycling credentials can actually be.
Jane Gardener, a CRUK co-ordinator said, “retailers who take positive steps towards sustainable disposal of waste carpet such as participation in take-back schemes for clean installation off-cuts, can benefit from enhanced customer perception and differentiate themselves from their competitors.”
This is a point that sometimes gets lost in the green message. Yes of course it’s incredibly important to do what we can to conserve our planet and protect the future, but in the cut throat world of business, image and USP go a long way to preserving our cash flow and longevity. If you are able to prove to your customer that you are a responsible and an ethical business who isn’t focusing on profits alone, you stand a much better chance of getting the business and more importantly, retaining the customer.
CRUK promote recycling in the best way possible. Highlighting the benefits in a well-rounded manner whilst also offering invaluable advice and support, they have helped divert thousands of tonnes of waste from landfill and have a large array of big name supporters helping and promoting their cause.
